An unexpected end.

Hey, everyone. I am sorry to announce this but Secrets of Sorcery will be coming to an end. Over the past few days I have faced a series of issues. My computer basically destroyed itself. And while I managed to save the versions of the game that are currently out, All my character models and the programs I use to make the game have been wiped and stopped working. To continue the story from here I would have to rebuild things basically from scratch. With increased pressure at work and at home, this isn't something I can do. I am really sorry that our story has come to an end this way. It's not what I had planned at all. I was working towards a much more satisfying conclusion. But here we are. Version 0.39.0 will be the last update. I want to thank everyone who has taken their time to play. And special thanks to all of the people who have become patrons. It has been a wild ride telling this story. And I hope each and every one of you had fun. The public release for 0.39.0 will go ahead on the 14th as it was supposed to and I will be closing down this patreon soon after (The game will stay up on itch.io). I am truly thankful to everyone who has supported me with this project and I deeply regret that it can't go any further.

TL;DR:

Secrets of Sorcery is ending with the public release of 0.39.0.

0.39.0 will release to the public on the 14th of October.

Thank you for any support you gave, it meant the world to me.

I really do hope you enjoyed your time with this story.

This is sad, but completely understandable.
Setback like that indeed ruins all motivation.
But with the freed mindspace you will have more time for yourself, who knows, maybe it's better for you in the long run)
Thank you for telling us this story, wish you well)

I completely understand. You did great for something so ambitious. I send you and your computer my condolences. Man. If you can report back, how far along would the final update have been? If so, not now but perhaps later, how would things conclude if development was still going on strong? I hope you will have a bright future after this. I don't expect a remake or remaster of this project anytime soon but I'm certain this experience may come handy some other day should the stars align.

Sorry to hear about this it was really a good game truly but hey who knows maybe this may be an opening for something even better

Wait, you really didn't back up your development files to the cloud or something??? Oh my god, you are the dumbest developer of the year hahahahaha.

i'm sorry to hear that, is there any way to reverse-engineer your work?

It's disappointing, but it happens. If you ever wish to start again, we'll be there. For now, enjoy the time.
